If you use Firefox, and if not why not, then you need UrlbarExt! It’s especially useful if you’re like me and you use things like Twitter, Facebook and/or have friends that you like to send web links to.
At the time of writing it’s still a development add-on so you have to register with Mozilla to able to download it, but I’ve been using it on my iBook for a few days now with no problems.
Basically it adds some wee icons to the right end of the URL bar in your firefox brower and you can click them to perform the following functions:
(1) copy the current page URL to the clipboard – no highlighting required!
(2) make the current URL a TInyURL. Combine 2 and 1 to copy a TinyURL for the current page onto your clipboard!
(3) search the current page
(4) go up a level on the current website
(5) switch to anonymous browsing
(6) bookmark the current page
All useful functions, and beautifully integrated into firefox. Give it a go – it’s excellent!
