I slept badly again last night – MacDonalds was very busy with people presumably celebrating the holiday today. This morning breakfast was late. Apparently on a holiday in Switzerland everything is more relaxed so breakfast wasn’t available until just before we had to leave for the office. There was literally no traffic around so our [...] Today was very much like yesterday. A fairly sleepless night thanks mainly to the MacDonalds (yes, it’s still there) ‘McDrive’ followed a few hours later by one or more goods trains doing something nearby that involved a considerable amount of squeaking, shunting, bashing and other noise-making. Then I woke up again at 5am as I [...] The day started early – 6am (which with my UK clock is really 5am). No-one had seen fit to replace the MacDonalds next door with a scenic Swiss Mountain View overnight, so I took solace in breakfast in the hotel restaurant. No full English here. This is strictly your continental breakfast with croissants, yogurts, fruit [...] As I overtook the seventh car in a nine car queue, looking well ahead round the open right bend I noted that the lead car was a Toyota Rav 4 being driven astoundingly slowly. None of the other cars made a move to overtake, seemingly quite content to sit behind. True, it was snowing but [...] Well, it’s been an unusual day at work. It started unusually with me being chauffered into work by Nick. This is unusual as it’s normally me driving him in. Tuesday meetings had been brought forward to Monday so it was straight to the canteen for coffee and then into 90 minutes of conferences. Just before [...] Tomorrow is my first time flying abroad with work. Family and friends have asked if I’m looking forward to it and the answer is, “sort of.” I’m not big on flying and the weather forecast is not fantastic for here (Midlands) or there (Switzerland). In fact the weather forecast for the whole four days in [...] I wrote this entry a few days ago about the purchase of a Motorola v3 Motorazr handset and the surprise that some of the items commonly expected weren’t included. Disappointing. Well, it appears that I’m not the only person feeling the same way. See this. It’s the power of the blog again! [...] As I left the house this evening this bloke rode past our house on a Penny Farthing. I’ve never seen anyone actually riding a Penny Farthing before, so it came as a bit of a suprise. As a previous post has described, Windows Mobile 6 appears to have some issues when used on a mobile phone. Like not actually allowing you to answer calls for example. And losing text messages.
